I think you are VERY unlikely to have many differences with smogon here, although due to the more recent releases, smogon aren't too sure at the moment either

I am... actually a competitive battler; I'm a Gym Leader on TCoD. I can help with the tiers. Hmm, this can be said for all of us about PD. I have been 2 different gym leaders and a member of the elite 4 at PD, however I'm completely unaware of the majority of Gen V. That doesn't necessarily mean that my opinion is useless though, as I would imagine most of Gen V can be categorised as being "like [Pok?mon from first 4 gens] but with [move/higher stat/ability/combination of previous] and as a result after a little research can say how much of a threat it will be where. The big advantage of my time in competitive battling is that I did a rather large spell of monotyping, meaning that I have competitively used many Pok?mon that wouldn't otherwise be considered as useful in competitive battling, and come across Pok?mon used in monotyping that also fit the description. I also prefered lower tier battling for some time, and if anyone tells you about my battling they will probably say that I used some pretty weird stuff. For example one of my main OU sweepers that devastated people was a ninetales (yes, you heard me, that fire typed NU that never really stunned anyone even in it's own tier). So yeah, when this happens I'll take a browse and give my opinion. I think that without any Gen V knowledge and the fact that 2 other people are already tier making, making my own is pretty pointless.

I can probably help categorize Gen V.

Thing is, you can't just categorise Gen V and add that to the original 4 Gens because the existence of new things make a huge difference to the ability of other Pok?mon in the metagame, never mind the inclusion of all the new moves and abilities that previously existing ones had, so really it will have to be a complete effort of categorising evrything.

You don't need to, if you have the time to look through everything that ia available to things and analyse it to what will do well against what, then you will get a nice little ranking of what can do the most damage to the most stuff and what can hold out getting the least damage from the most stuff. The you just need to slot in some tier boundaries and then huzzah, you have it!!

Or you could use a damage calculator...

Correction: AND you WILL HAVE TO use a damage calculator.
You use serebii to see what can do what, and then you use a damage calculator to see how muh damage it will do to things which you think will be strong against it in the metagame, and obviously with things that would be common counters and what not.
